Why QA during installation matters

Workmanship failures — laps not sealed, upstands not dressed correctly, penetration details not finished to manufacturer specification — are caught by independent observation at the right time. Catch them while the roofer is on site; don't catch them at the first storm after handover.

What we inspect (BS 6229 Section 7 compliant)

  • Substrate preparation and condition
  • Membrane application — laps, seams, adhesion, thickness
  • Upstand details, terminations and edge trims
  • Penetration details — pipe boots, fixings, roof outlets
  • Drainage falls and outlet positions
  • Interface details between the waterproofing and adjacent construction
  • AVCL continuity and sealing
  • Insulation installation — type, thickness, orientation, fixing
  • Protection and separation layers

  • Pre-start review
  • AVCL installation — pre-insulation
  • Membrane application — pre-protection
  • Detail completion — pre-cover
  • Pre-handover walkdown

Sensor commissioning

Sensors are tested and confirmed reporting to the monitoring platform before the roof is closed up. The system goes into service at handover, not weeks later.

What you receive

Written report per visit — specific, referenced, photographic. Non-compliances called out clearly, recommended corrections itemised, work approved where it has been done correctly. Data monitoring interpretation where sensors are installed. The full set forms part of the handover documentation and the LDI evidence file.
